Evoke facial contouring
Procedure: Evoke is a non-invasive technology that utilizes radiofrequency (RF) and is indicated for face and neck skin tightening. It is used for mild to moderate facial wrinkles. A hands-free paddle is placed on your jowls or submental area. The treatment induces heating of the dermal and sub-dermal layers which stimulate a reaction leading to collagen generation and replenishment, thus rejuvenating the face and neck area. The treatment creates a warm sensation over the skin surface. Treatment usually involves 3-6 weekly sessions lasting 15-45 minutes, and maintenance is required every few months.
Contraindications: pregnancy or breastfeeding, active skin disease in the treated area, bleeding disorder or any anticoagulant use in the last 10 days, skin resurfacing or cosmetic treatment to the area in the last 3 months, facial surgery in the last 6 months, pacemaker or any electrical implant in the body, permanent implant in the treated area (such as titanium plates/screws, silicone implants, dental implants), hyaluronic acid or other filler in the last 6 months in the treated area (except injected performed in a deep periosteal plane), skin cancer in the treated area, severe concurrent conditions (such as heart disorders, epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension, liver/kidney disease), immune suppression.
Preparing for treatment: Discontinue any irritant topical agents for 2-3 days prior to treatment and if medically permitted, anticoagulants should be stopped 7 days prior treatment. If you are prone to cold sores, your doctor will prescribe you prophylactic medication to prevent reactivation.
Recovery: There is no downtime and patients can return to social activities, work, or school the same day. Mild redness and swelling lasting not longer than 24h is a typical skin reaction to the treatment. Minor bruising can be seen during a few days in sensitive skin. Avoid very hot water and direct heat exposure (tanning bed or sun) for 2 days post treatment. Avoid scrubbing and scratching the treated area. Moisturize the skin.
