Procedure: Botox is a brand name of botulinum toxin. The correct medical term is neuromodulators or botulinum toxin. We can treat facial wrinkles with neuromodulators. Neuromodulators are products used to weaken facial muscles causing wrinkles, thus rejuvenating the face. A botulinum toxin injection will weaken facial muscles within a few days with maximal effect at two weeks, and a duration of action of 3-6 months.

Risks: minimal pain at the site of injection, bruising, redness, slight headache the same or next day, cosmetic dissatisfaction, asymmetries, drooping eyelid, residual movement, a true allergic reaction to botulinum toxin.
