DID YOU KNOW
Facial Plastic Surgery is the field that devotes itself exclusively to surgical and nonsurgical facial cosmetic and reconstructive treatments. A facial plastic surgeon is usually a doctor with a medical license that is also certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. To become board certified, a physician must pass a series of rigorous oral and written tests. After board certification by the Royal College, these surgeons specialize further by undertaking an additional year’s fellowship in facial plastic surgery to become certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS).
